Who We Are
BWM has spent 30 years shaping the built fabric of Belfast and beyond. Founded on a reputation for solving hard problems, we've grown into a practice trusted by developers, contractors, universities, and public bodies alike — working across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and mainland Britain.
The work spans the full range, from one-off private homes to major civic and commercial schemes. That breadth is deliberate. We think good engineering means understanding what a project actually needs, not just running the numbers. The most useful thing we bring to a job is often the question nobody else thought to ask.
We're a small team. That means the people you speak to are the people doing the work, and the quality of that work is something we take personally.

Structural Reuse
We work with existing buildings, assessing what's already there and designing around retained frames to make adaptive reuse viable. That means less demolition, lower embodied carbon, and solutions that are still practical and buildable.

Structural New Build
We deliver structural engineering for new buildings across residential, commercial, and mixed-use sectors. Our approach is design-led and buildable from the outset, coordinated closely with architects and contractors to keep programmes on track and structures efficient.

Civil Engineering & Infrastructure
We provide civil engineering design for drainage, roads, and external works, from initial site appraisals through to construction-stage detail. Our designs are practical, coordinated with the wider project team, and developed with adoptability and regulatory approval in mind.

Temporary Works
We provide temporary works design to support safe, efficient construction. That covers everything from backpropping and crane bases to hoarding, hoist foundations, and trench support, all designed to suit the specific site conditions and programme.
